Hi, how can we help?

How to commission a NexBlue Charge Point

Every NexBlue product needs to be configured before it can be used to charge a vehicle or monitor a site. The configuration stages are vital as, not only do they set how the products should behave, and any limits that might be applicable to their functioning, but they also let us know who installed them, when and where. This information is really helpful when it comes to any product warranties that may be applicable, and allows us to triage any support queiries that come in that shouldn't be dealt with by Installers

Step 1 - Location creation

The first step when attempting to commission a NexBlue product is to either create the Location, or navigate to the existing Location within the Nexblue Partner App. Locations are really important when working with our range of products. For a more in depth guide on how to create and manage Locations, follow this guide here, and to understand the importance of Locations, head to this one. The steps below show settings available through the Location creation stages:

Step 2 - Product selection & circuit limitations

Once the Location has been created, its time to add product(s). Any products added to a location will have all of the information above applied to it; for example its expected the product has been installed at an address that correlates to the position of the physical product. Likewise, the upstream main fuse value is the same for all circuits within the location, and therefore acts as the limit for the total current that can be pulled between all charge points at the location.

Step 3 - Connecting to product & adding Wi-Fi

Once the circuit settings have been chosen, its time to add the charge point. Simply tap add at the bottom of the screen and enable any permissions required to give the NexBlue Partner App access to your camera. Scan the QR code on the side of the unit, or on the installation manual, or if you would prefer to not scan, tap "Add Manually". You will then be taken to the next screen where you can enter the pin for the charge point, again found on the installation manual. If you ever lose the pin for a charge point, you can find on the product page through the NexBlue Partner Portal.

Once the pin has been entered and you have moved onto the next screen, you will then have the opportunity to connect to the customer's Wi-Fi. If you would prefer to use the onboard 4G eSim, simply tap "configure Wi-Fi later" and this will initiate the eSim. For more information on connectivity, have a look at this guide.

Step 4 - Phase rotation, checklist & ownership transfer

The final stages of commissioning include setting the phase rotation configuration. We have an in depth guide on phase rotation in which the importance of it is discussed in detail. Once this has been set, you will be told you have successfully added the product, well done!

To complete an installation checklist you can tap the top optionn, however if you are happy that the installation has been completed to a high quality standard and is ready to be transferred to the customer, simply tap the bottom option and follow the steps to transfer. Follow this guide for more information on the ownership transfer process.
