Smarter Installation, Simpler Management

Electric vehicle charging technology continues to evolve, not just for drivers, but for installers and site operators as well. With the our new charge point range, we’ve focused on simplifying installation, streamlining large deployments, and reducing maintenance complexity.

From NFC-enabled setup to intelligent hardware identification and integrated load monitoring, we have introduced features designed to make EV charging infrastructure easier to deploy and manage at scale.

Which chargers are in the range?

Towards the end of 2025, we released our latest range of charge points, based on feedback provided by customers and installers who had tried and tested the previous iterations. The units included are:

  • NexBlue Edge 2
  • NexBlue Edge Max
  • NexBlue Delta
  • NexBlue Delta Max
  • NexBlue Point 2 (UK)
  • NexBlue Delta Max (UK)

All charge points can charge up to 22kW, other than the Point 2 which has been designed for the UK market and charges up to 7.4kW.

Tap to Add: NFC Built Directly into the Socket

Setting up a new charge point should be quick and intuitive. That’s why every new NexBlue unit includes NFC technology directly in the charging socket.

When adding a charger to a location in the NexBlue system, installers or operators can simply tap the socket with their device. The charger is recognised instantly and added to the correct location.

This eliminates the need to manually:

  • Scan QR codes

  • Enter charger PIN codes

The result is a faster, more seamless commissioning process, especially useful when installing multiple charge points on the same site.

Intelligent Backplates for Large Installations

For larger deployments, the chargers work seamlessly with our NexBlue Ready solution, which introduces an even smarter way to prepare charging infrastructure.

Each backplate contains an integrated RFID tag that stores key location information. During site preparation, installers can simply mount the backplate and tap it to assign it to a location in the system.

Later, when the charge point itself is installed, the NFC reader built into the back of the charger automatically reads the RFID tag on the backplate.

From there, the system instantly:

  • Identifies the correct location

  • Registers the charger automatically

  • Applies the correct configuration

No additional setup is required.

This approach allows infrastructure to be installed in stages, making large projects far easier to manage.

Effortless Charger Replacement

Hardware occasionally needs replacing, but that shouldn’t require a full system reconfiguration.

Because the location data is stored in the backplate’s RFID tag, replacing a charger is incredibly straightforward.

An installer simply:

  1. Removes the charger core from the backplate

  2. Fits the replacement unit

  3. Powers the system back on

The new charger immediately reads the RFID tag, retrieves the stored location information, and automatically registers itself within the NexBlue platform.

No reconfiguration.

No manual reassignment.

No downtime beyond the physical swap.

For operators managing large networks, this significantly reduces maintenance time and service disruption.

Hardwired CT for Reliable Load Monitoring

We have also introduced an integrated hardwired current transformer (CT) solution for load monitoring and power management.

Instead of relying on a wireless connection to devices such as the NexBlue Zen current sensor, a CT clamp can be wired directly into the charger via the multi-function connector on the back of the unit.

This hardwired approach offers several advantages:

  • Reliable communication without wireless dependency

  • Simpler installation in certain domestic environments

  • Consistent load monitoring across the site

A single CT clamp can monitor the total incoming power to a property on one phase, even when multiple NexBlue charge points are installed.

The chargers then share this information across the location, allowing them to balance charging power collectively rather than individually.

This ensures the electrical supply remains protected while making the most of the available capacity.

Built for Installers, Designed for Scale

Our newest range of chargers is designed with real-world installation and operation in mind.

By combining NFC-enabled setup, RFID-equipped backplates, and integrated load monitoring, the system removes unnecessary complexity from EV charging infrastructure.

The benefits are clear:

  • Faster installation through tap-to-add NFC setup

  • Simpler large-site deployment with NexBlue Ready backplates

  • Rapid hardware replacement without reconfiguration

  • Reliable load monitoring through hardwired CT integration

  • Scalable infrastructure ready for growing EV demand

Whether installing a single domestic charger or deploying dozens across a commercial site, we make charging infrastructure easier to manage from day one.
