How to add a charge point in the myNexBlue App
Table of Contents
Most customers prefer to use the myNexBlue App to control their charge point. Whether its setting up a new schedule, connecting to their tariff to import automated timings, or sharing the charger to be used with friends and family members, the myNexBlue App is the place to do it all.
However, in order to do all of those things, and more, you need to have the charge point you need access to on your app. It's important to note that the QR codes on your charge points and on the installation manual are for the Installer to configure, NOT for the customer to use to take ownership of the charge point. The connection method you need is detailed below.
How to add a charge point
If you are the owner of the charge point then you should have full control from time of installation. Before the installer leaves site, they should transfer the Location of the charge point over to you. This way you have access to all the devices that have been installed at the specific Location that they created during configuration.
When the installer has finished the installation, they should either show you the unique QR code on their phone, or take your email address which will mean the code is automatically sent to your email. To add the charge point, go through the following steps:
At this stage, scan the QR code either on the Installer's device, or on your email, to obtain the location ID. Once the ID has been obtained, Accept the Location.
The Location and associated products should now show in your myNexBlue App!
I have not been sent a QR code to my email, or scanned off the Installer's device, unit is constant white
If the unit is pulsing white, then it has been configured by the installer. In order to take ownership of the Location in which the charge point as been installed, the installer needs to transfer it to you. Please contact the installer, they should be able to do this through a multitude of options available to them.
I have not been sent a QR code to my email, or scanned off the Installer's device, unit is pulsing yellow
If your unit is pulsing yellow then the installer has not configured the charge point. It is vital that the installer configures the charge point to ensure it operates within safe limits for you and does not exceed any local restrictions for power. In this instance you should contact the installation company and advise them of this status, they should then return to site to commission or contact NexBlue's support team with the necessary information and we can configure on their behalf.
