How to connect charge point to 4G during/after installation
Table of Contents
All of our charge points come with 4G eSims built in, if a charge point is being installed in an area where Wi-Fi signal is poor or intermittent, 4G is a preferable alternative for the connection. The charge point will attempt to connect via 4G if a Wi-Fi connection is not set up. If a Wi-Fi connection is set up, then the charge point will attempt to connect via this, even if the signal is weak.
It's important to note that Wi-Fi is always the preferable option for connectivity. Wi-Fi is usually more stable, it also means your products are more likely to stay up to date. 4G can be temperamental based on location and local traffic, as well as not being as fast.
How to connect during installation
During configuration, if no connection is available, or you are worried the connection is not reliable, simply skip the stage in the process as detailed below:
How to connect after installation (weak network)
Through the NexBlue Partner Portal, find the charge point that you wish to switch over to 4G either through the Location or the Product menus, the process is covered in this guide, then ensure you are on the "general" tab. On the right hand side the option is presented to change the network priority from Wi-Fi to 4G. Change the setting if required then click "Save" to confirm the new configuration.
