Why are organisations important?
Within the NexBlue system we have introduced organisations. Organisations are a great way to streamline operations, both in terms of collating all Installations that you may be responsible for, as well as unlocking things like our pre-configuration tool which allows you to bulk configure, and even configure off site in some cases.
With organisations, you have access to any installations within your network, as and when they are completed. This is great when it comes to a large organisation utilising contractors for their installations. As soon as an installer who is part of your organisation configures a charge points through the NexBlue Partner App, it will become visible through your portal view also.
It's important to note, any member of your organisation can also see any and all installations completed by other members of the organisation. If this poses an issue, then an alternative solution is to use the location sharing feature which is detailed in this guide.
How to create an Organisation
If you want to create an organisation, head to "My organisation", which is found under Organisation in the left hand menu. You will be given the option to either "Join an organisation" or "Register an organisation". If you are the most applicable person to register the organisation, click this option and fill out the following form. Once the organisation has been submitted you should receive confirmation of the organisation having been successfully created within 3 working days.
How to invite someone to an existing Organisation
Once an organisation has been created, any member of the Organisation with "Administrator" role has full control over the Organisation, including the membership within the role allocation. You are an Administrator and would like to invite a new member to the Organisation, head to the"My Organisation" section of the menu on the left hand side, scroll down to Members, then click "Invite member"
Enter the email address of the person you would like to invite and the role. It's important to note two things:
- Anyone you add has full visibility over any installations that are visible to you, including those which have been installed by other members of the organisation
- If the role allocated is "Administrator" then the member has the exact same level of control over the organisation as you do
How to join an Organisation
Once you have invited someone to an Organisation, they will need to join. To do this, go to “My Organisation” on the left, then click “Join an Organisation”. You will then be prompted to enter an invitation code, which will have been emailed to you by one of the Administrators. If you cannot find the email, check your spam/junk folder or ask them to resend it.
When joining, you can choose to pass on management access. Any exisitng locations selected at this stage will have their permissions transferred to the Organisation and all included members. If you do not select this option, only future installations will be shared.
