Hi, how can we help?

How to transfer a Location between End Users

What is Location Ownership?

Within the NexBlue system, Locations are created for any new address at which NexBlue products have been installed. This Location can be transferred to an end customer, or End User, once the products have been added by the Installer once installed. The End User who has the Location transferred to them has full control over the products at the Location, and is considered as the Owner of the Location. The Owner can share access of the products thats have been installed at the Location with other End Users, either through adding additional RFID cards to authorise charges, or by sharing the charger with email addresses of other Users. Any End User who has access through the myNexBlue App to products is considered a User of each product.

The Owner of the Location is the only End User that can change other settings for the products installed at the Location, including the charging schedule and access to reporting data of usage. There can only be one Owner per Location, once Ownership is transferred the original User will not have access to the products unless shared by the new Owner.

Why might someone want to transfer a Location?

Usually, the Owner of a Location remains the same for the duration of the usage of the product, with access being shared with any required people. There are however some instances in which it could be useful to transfer Ownership from one End User to another. For example, if someone moves house, the new homeowner would require access to the installed products without them having to be reconfigured, therefore the original Installer could complete this transfer.

On the other hand, for a commercial site, the employee responsible for the original installation may leave the business, therefore one part of the handover process would be to transfer ownership to a different employee; this can be done through the myNexBlue App by the original Owner.

Transfer and delete data or transfer and keep data?

Any historic consumption data will be tracked in the NexBlue system, its up to the person transferring the Location as to whether this data is accessible to the new Owner. For the domestic example, data will likely not want to be kept as the new homeowner would not benefit from this and may confuse useage tracking. On the other hand, for commercial sites historic data would likely want to be kept even if the original Owner leaves the business, so transfer and keep data would likely be the option.
