Smart Charging with Rewards
Table of Contents
Quick solution
- Open Smart Charging in the myNexBlue app.
- Add your electricity tariff, then set when your vehicle needs to be ready and how much charge it requires.
- Opt in to Smart Charge Rewards and plug in as usual. Complete at least two eligible charging sessions in each reward period to earn £5.
How Smart Charging works
Smart Charging schedules your NexBlue charger around the ready time and charging requirement you set in the myNexBlue app. It uses your tariff details to favour lower-cost charging times and may briefly pause charging during periods of high demand on the electricity grid. Charging resumes automatically when demand eases.
You remain in control. You can change your preferences or start charging immediately whenever your plans change.
Before starting, have the following information ready:
- Your tariff information, including whether it is single rate or dual rate and, where applicable, the peak and off-peak times.
- The time your vehicle needs to be ready and the amount of charge you require.
- Your MPAN, if the app cannot detect it automatically. You can find the MPAN on your electricity bill.
Set up Smart Charging and Smart Charge Rewards
- Open Smart Charging
Open the myNexBlue app and select Smart Charging to begin setup. - Add your electricity tariff
Enter your tariff details, including off-peak times and prices. Provide your MPAN if the app asks for it. - Choose your charging preferences
Set the time your vehicle needs to be ready and how much charge it requires. - Finish setup and opt in
Review your details, select Finish, and enable Smart Charge Rewards when prompted. - Plug in as usual
Connect your vehicle to your NexBlue charger. Smart Charging creates a schedule around your tariff and charging preferences. - Track your rewards
Open Wallet in the myNexBlue app to view your reward balance. Complete at least two eligible charging sessions during each reward period to receive the £5 reward.
Need to charge immediately? Tap the play button on the myNexBlue app home screen or tap the RFID card on the top-left corner of the front of the charger. You can also update your charging preferences at any time.
