Managing RFID Cards
Table of Contents
What are RFID tags and why are they helpful?
All NexBlue charge points come with a paired RFID tag in the box with them. This tag can be used to authorise a charge without using the myNexBlue App. It's useful when you want to allow customers to activate a charge without needing to share the charge point with them through the myNexBlue App. They are also a useful tool to determine who is charging — without the use of an app or a phone signal, since the RFID tag works offline.
How to pair with a charger
It's important to note that an RFID tag is paired to a specific charge point, not to all charge points at a Location if there are multiple. That being said, the same RFID tag can be paired with multiple charge points. To pair an RFID tag with the charge point, navigate to the charge point that you want to pair with the RFID tag, then follow the below stages to pair it. Firstly, decide whether you want the RFID tag to be an Admin card or a Guest card.
The next stage is to pair the card by tapping it on the top left corner of the front of the charge point, or entering the number in manually. Once its scanned you will have the option to name the card.
Can non-NexBlue RFID cards be used with NexBlue charge points?
Yes! You can use any RFID tag that is compliant with ISO-14443 with NexBlue charge points, just follow the same steps as you would above.
